Audiotap - Music Streamer for iTunes App Reviews

50 add

Fantastic!

Does exactly what it’s supposed to do, and what I want it to do. I can now listen to my iTunes music while I’m driving to and from work, or otherwise away from home. I was vacationing in Florida last week, and was able to listen to music streaming from my computer in Virginia. And, unlike other media streamers that I have used, this one updates play count and played date data in iTunes, which is critical to many of my smart playlists. I am worried that this hasn’t been updated in many months - now that I’ve found it, I don’t know if I can live without it if the developers give it up.

Expensive disappointment

Works sporadically over local network and not at all out of network...regretting this purchase.

An ESSENTIAL app for any audiophile!

An ESSENTIAL app for any audiophile! Accommodates real audiophiles with libraries larger than what traditional cloud services can. I hope the developer will support this app, update it and keep it going forever. Would easily pay $20 or more for this app!

Version up too late

Version up too late. Switching between the screen of only artwork and lyrics described the screen can not be in touch from iphone5,volume bar is now hidden from iOS7.the LDK than two years but that could be easily fixed.this is the pressure of the apple to spread iTunes Match? Or negligence of the developer? It is payware of 6.+$. Developers not lose absolutely if pressure from apple! Please think of users who know and love if negligence, and great to buy. Please do usable flom iOS8. Version up of the bug fix is duty paid software developers. Soon!!! Was tired of waiting!!

Stopped working

Just says "cannot play track" even though everything is connecting. What gives.....?!

Excellent, just needs 1 more feature.

Love this app. Have 170GB of music and can stream it all using this app anywhere I have a wifi/cellular connection. The only feature I wish it had is Siri integration, where you can have Siri change tracks, play specific artists off of app the same way it does it for native music app on my iPhone. That way I can not fumble looking for music while driving. Other than that. Amazing app.

Outdated interface

Great app. Definitely functional. Does everything I want and more. Biggest gripe is outdated music interface based on very old ios version of music app. Even config pages and keyboard show their age. Would be great to see them updated to latest ios theming.

I Love This App!

The beautiful app let’s me browse and stream music, including playlists, from my home computer’s iTunes library to my phone. I’ve had this app for years and also through a few iOS updates, and it’s still going strong and works great. The developer seems to have abandoned it since there hasn’t been an update in a couple of years, but despite the interface looking a little ancient, it still functions great and gets the job done. If you have a large iTunes music library and want to be able to browse and stream it to you phone while on the go, this app does the job! (You’re computer, of course, will have to be turned on and you’ll need the companion MediaTap streaming app installed and linked to your phone to stream) I hope the developer hasn’t completely abandoned it since the app is a perfect solution for how to have your entire iTunes music library with you wherever you are.

NO LONGER WORKING

This app requires you to download mediatap which is a companion app that you need in order for this to work. Only problem is, that the website to download mediatap (their official website) is down. And doesnt look like it will be back soon (their domain expired, and I dont think that would happen to a company that plans to continue). Without media tap this renders the app USELESS. What a waste of $6 bucks.

It was a wonderful app

It was great while it lasted. There havent been any updates in 2 years and now their website it gone. Anyone know of a good replacement?

Almost perfect app. Note that if you add music to your iTunes library, close mediatap (server app on Mac) and reopen to refresh (iPhone) playlists. Also in preferences, note that to see your server address you can click on Test Remote Access (Network tab). Would be nice if it were simply stated under the Server Status section as is the Port address.

Very nicely done

Seems to work very well, I am happy. For manual port forwarding you go into no detaill of which protocol to forward. Is it UDP or TCP? A wiki link doesnt help. Ive forwarded both TCP / UDP and it is working but you might want to add it somewhere on the website. Keep up the great work!

R.I.P. Audiotap

I hope Im wrong, but this app appears to officially be dead as of iTunes 12.2 (the app no longer recognizes the library, although playlists still work). If the developers are listening, PLEASE dont give up on this app. It truly is the best.

Abandonware

Hasnt been updated since 2012 . The latest iTunes update has broken its functionality . I guess we can put a fork in this app .

ITunes 12.2 killed this app.

Love(d) this app. But it no longer works correctly. It does not sort your iTunes library by Artist, or Album etc. anymore. It now puts every song into one long list sorted by album name under the Playlists tab. So for me its a 40k+ song list. Do not purchase until they hopefully update it.

iTunes v12.2 breaks this app

Like others have mentioned, since iTunes v12.2 this app no longer recognizes artist or song lists. Playlists still work. I’ve emailed the developer, long shot I know, if I hear anything, I’ll post here.

No longer works after iTunes 12.2

This WAS a great app. It’s now a useless app. The iTunes 12.2 update killed it. It starts fine, but the app can no longer see any of your music in your ITunes library. People on the official Facebook page are reporting the same thing, but the developers haven’t made a post there in over 2 years. They haven’t updated their own web page in over 3 years. I sent them email and they never responded. This app is dead and apparently no longer being maintained. I’d be happy to update this review should the developers update it and fix the problem, but it seems like they are long gone.

No albums or Artisr

Connects great and I can access all of my playlist songs but cannot see any artist or albums. Please fix.

Doesnt Work

This used to be a great app for streaming my music but it doesnt work anymore. You can still stream from folders but the integration of iTunes library stopped working with the latest iTunes update. Tried contacting support but didnt get a response.

Apple seems to have killed it

Edit: Appears to be orphaned. Sent 3 emails over 5 weeks....no response to problem. No access to music, only podcasts. After IOS 8.4, it seems that Apple has killed access to albums, artists, genre, etc. playlist still work....but this app is essentially dead if this is not fixed. Before this, the app was great.
